I took that picture a few hours ago and there's a lot more down now. I think we beat out some parts of Alaska.
Good thing I have a warm sweater.
This yarn is so tricky to photograph; this picture actually makes the colors look more even than in real life. But it is the softest, squishiest sweater and I love it. I've had it on over a tank top all morning and feel nothing but softness. My only concern is that I have heard this yarn pills a lot, but I am hopeful that won't be too much of a problem; it seems like all my sweaters pill anyway.
I did make some changes. I added about three inches to the bottom and about four inches to the sleeves. I'm not sure why I had to alter the sleeves, since I think they look about the same length as the picture, but when I followed the pattern they barely covered my elbows. Maybe I have very long arms and didn't realize?
But I squeaked by with four skeins.
I finished up a couple of other little things this week. After all, what's a pirate without an eye patch? Or two?
I've made this pattern before, but it met an unfortunate end with the vacuum cleaner. Good thing it's quick and only requires a few yards of black chenille (or whatever you have, really, although I suppose it shouldn't be itchy). It's from Vickie Howell's book New Knits on the Block, but I bet you could figure it out all by yourself. Anyway, Liam has a story book about pirates and one of the lesser pirates wears two eye patches, so Liam decided he had to have two as well. He doesn't wear both for very long, however, for obvious reasons.
And Olivia? Well, her Katja has been reincarnated.
Mark took her to the grocery store yesterday. After she got her shoes on, she announced, "Be back," and climbed up the stairs to get a "hat."
And yeah, we left it on her.
Oh for heaven's sake! I just came in from cutting the grass (which is a major job and I should receive some sort of trophy for...Chris, with the heart condition, is off the hook) and see your beautiful autumn leaves covered with snow. :( Say it ain't so!
Love,
Judy
Your sweater looks beautiful.

At least the snow is picturesque!
Wonderful sweater! It looks cozy and warm for a snowy day. I think I will rip mine back and start over on larger needles.

You have snow already. We are bracing ourselves for our hot weather which has just started. Greenjeans looks great, and I cant believe the sleeves were so short when you knit them up. Will have to keep note of that. It looks good on you.

Oh dear! We were wearing short-sleeved shirts today!! Your cardigan is gorgeous, and I can just imagine how soft it is. Two skeins of Malabrigo will make you the warmest pair of legwarmers! Imagine that buttery softness on your legs!! I wear them under my trousers and jeans all winter in that very same colour! Personally I just like hiking up my pants to my knees and showing them off and inviting people to touch them.

Welp, you beat us in Anchorage. :) Your poor tree - it didn't even lose all its leaves.
Greenjeans looks beautiful. I think it is my next sweater once I am done with X-mas presents.
Olivia looked simply lovely. Good for you for letting her go that way.

Argh! Not fair! It was 86 here today. Sigh. I love the Greenjeans, though--even better than the sample on Knitty. (But I have a thing for blue.)
And was Olivia wearing one legging, as well?!

My kids would be so jealous. They seem to think it's unfair that we have to drive to snow. But I bet they'd feel differently if they lived there.
Sweater looks incredible on you. Very flattering. Olivia seems to have the right idea.

The sweater is great. I'll get to see the real colour soon, I hope.
The "world series" in snow! If my memory is right, I remember a snowfall last October. We left Denver for Phoenix in a snowfall. The paper shows a warm day today in Denver, so I'm guessing the snow will melt.
Have a great day, Love, Bobby

Love the sweater! And the hats! Cute cute cute. There's nothing better than a soft squishy sweater to snuggle up in on days like that, eh?

I keep hearing about Malabrigo..I think I need to get my hands on some. Well, as soon as I can afford to :) The sweater looks great.
Insert my typical "Olivia is adorable" quote here :)

Love your sweater!! What a great colour. I almost made my Mr Greenjeans in Malabrigo Tuareg but Amy suggested Lorna's Laces Shepard Worsted. I do love Malabrigo though. It pills but it's easy enough to shave the pills off once in a while. The one sweater I've made with it is super comfy!
