Aren't they beautiful? Collectively, I mean. I could have taken pictures of them for quite some time. And did, I suppose. But then we had a little job to do. : )
A grand total of 87 hats and two blankets were delivered in Tuesday's memory to The Children's Hospital. The volunteers at the office were thrilled. I suppose I expected that they get this sort of thing all the time. They don't. They dug right in and oooed and ahhhhed and gushed over them. They said the kids in oncology would love them. And they said many thank yous. I wish you guys could all have been there with me. I cried. (I always cry.)
Then we went to the cafeteria to recharge with chocolate milk. This hospital appears to have been built to soothe, by the way. Do you know that I'd never been there before?
You did an amazing thing!!! Thank you!!

I would have cried too. You did good. I, too, assume that the hospitals get tons of knitted items. Maybe it's time I organize a little sumpin' sumpin' here amongst my knitting peeps. You've inspired me.

What a wonderful thing. As the recipient of hand-knit and hand-crafted items (blankets for each of my girls when they were in the NICU and pedeatrics unit) I can tell you that these things mean at least as much to the recipients as they do to the people who donated them. Thankfully my daughters were only there for a short time, but the love and generosity of others made those short stays easier. Thanks. Your work is inspirational!

I understand your emotion. We are all inspired to act on out best impulses as we read of what you and others did on this project.
I love the dandelion in the carpet. Charm where you least expect it.
